Kabusa Advocacy Dialogue
The Kabusa Advocacy Dialogue was not a workshop. It was a conversation the community needed.
On December 17th, we brought together parents, community leaders, adolescents, and educators to talk honestly about child protection, school retention, and accountability.
We spoke about things people don’t always say out loud:
Harmful norms that silence girls
Gender-based violence
The culture of “manage it” instead of reporting it
Who is actually responsible for protecting children
It wasn’t always comfortable. But it was necessary.
Because safety cannot be outsourced.
It must be owned, by families, by leaders, by communities.
By the end of the dialogue, something important shifted. The room moved from “this is a girls’ issue” to “this is our responsibility.”
And that is how systems begin to change.
