Safer Girls Project 2.0
From February 3rd to 6th, we worked with 78 adolescent girls across two secondary schools in Abuja.
We didn’t just “talk at” them. We created space.
Space to ask questions.
Space to talk about boundaries.
Space to understand what gender-based violence actually looks like.
Space to learn what to do if something feels wrong.
For some of the girls, it was the first time they heard clearly explained what their rights are — and that they have the right to speak.
We talked about confidence. We talked about safety. We talked about menstrual health and understanding their bodies. We talked about reporting pathways and who they can trust.
The goal wasn’t just information. It was clarity.
Because confidence is important.
But clarity protects.
Safer Girls continues to strengthen not just individual girls, but the culture of safety within schools.
